Baldwin Hardware, a leading brand of the Hardware & Home Improvement (HHI) division of Spectrum Brands, Inc., on Jan. 8 unveiled a new collection of smart locks called Baldwin Enhanced, providing the convenience of keyless entry in a beautiful Baldwin handleset from the Baldwin Reserve portfolio.
“Baldwin redefined the traditional smart lock space last year with the introduction of Evolved, which is now featured on every Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Smart Home being built,” said PJ Rosch, senior brand manager for Baldwin Hardware. “We expect Enhanced to have a similar impact on the market since customers are no longer willing to settle for ordinary smart locks.”
Enhanced blends timeless Baldwin craftsmanship with advanced Kevo technology to allow users to control who enters and leaves the home through a simple smartphone app. Customers with an existing Baldwin Reserve handleset can easily upgrade to the Enhanced version through an easy-to-install conversion kit, which replaces the internal components and instantly gains access to the home through a smartphone. The exterior door remains unchanged and traditional keys continue to work as needed. Baldwin Enhanced connects through advanced bridge technology allowing users to easily lock and unlock doors from anywhere in the world. It will be available in 15 styles and eight finishes in May.
