House Tipster Attends the 2018 What’s New, What’s Next Event in NYC

The 10th annual event included over 85 beautiful showrooms, expert panels on hot industry topics, and beautiful new designs on display.

The New York Design Center hosted its 10th annual What’s New, What’s Next event at its space at 200 Lex in Manhattan on September 13, 2018. This lively affair was brought together hundreds of the biggest innovators and designers in home décor for a spectacular exhibition and display.


For the special 2018 event, showrooms from brands like Dune, McGuire, Pearson, Century Furniture, Circa Lighting, Lexington Home Brands, Kravet, Pennoyer Newman, Townhouse Kitchens, Tucker Robbins, CF Modern, Theodore Alexander, Metropolitan Lighting, The Phillips Collection, Interlude Home, Palacek, Kasthall, The New Traditionalists, Milano Smart Living, Bradley USA, ducduc, Benjamin Moore & Co., Plexi-Craft, Dennis Miller Associates, Christopher Guy, and many more drew excited crowds of industry professionals and design enthusiasts.

The day was filled with inspiring, influential, and informational panel discussions on a wide variety of relevant topics – like brand-building, the influences of fashion on interior design, the trend towards convertible living spaces, inspired design in hospitality, artisanal collaborations, and more. Distinguished designers and industry experts shared their thoughts on these big concepts, and of course, share their insights on what will be new and next throughout the upcoming 2019 season and beyond.

It’s no surprise that What’s New, What’s Next was also destination for some exciting breaking news and current launches. Television personalities Carson Kressley and Thom Filicia debuted the first look at their new Bravo design series “Get a Room with Carson & Thom” at the event, ahead of its October 2018 TV premiere. Plus, fall’s biggest authors – like Cathy Graham, Tony Conway, and Wendy Goodman, previewed and signed their latest books. This multi-media event truly brought out an impressive spectrum of talent!
